From 15 January 2020, those using a device with Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 10 Mobile or earlier, will no longer be able to use the WhatsApp app.
If you have a Windows Phone and you launch your WhatsApp, you will see the warning end of support and you won't be able to view your existing conversations.
Specifically you will see it message : “You can no longer use WhatsApp on this phone because WhatsApp no longer supports it. Click to learn how to switch to a supported phone."
It is also no longer possible to creation new account with WhatsApp for Windows Phone. Additionally, users cannot verify their existing account unless the linked phone number is also registered on a supported phone.
Facebook pulled WhatsApp Windows Phone app from Microsoft Store last week. According to Facebook, remaining Windows Phone users will not have WhatsApp after these changes and may face the problem with their switch to Android or iOS.
Since you can't install Android or iOS on your Windows Phone, it may be time to buy a new phone.
