The new Patch Tuesday Microsoft's March 2020 patch includes updates for a total of 115 vulnerabilities. 26 of them have been classified as critical.
Of the 26 critical points, at least 17 affect browsers and various scripting engines, so if you use the browsing from Microsoft, you should update your system as soon as possible.
There are three vulnerabilities that allow remote malicious code execution (Remote Code Execution or simply RCE).
First of all, it is CVE-2020-0852, a vulnerability in Microsoft Word that allows an attacker to run malicious code as a local user.
To take advantage of this vulnerability, a malicious user would need to persuade the owner to open a malicious Microsoft Word file. Vulnerable versions are available in Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac, Microsoft Office 2019, Microsoft Office Online Server and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019.
Then the next RCE defect is declared as CVE-2020-0872, and a third is described in detail in CVE-2020-0905.
On Windows 10 devices, all of these patches are accompanied by the latest cumulative updates. They are available through both Windows Update and the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Due to the large number of vulnerabilities that Patch Tuesday March 2020 fixes, it is recommended that you install the new updates immediately.
There are currently no reports of failed installations or unwanted system behaviors after updates.
