Microsoft seems to have canceled the global conference Build 2020 due to coronavirus. It was scheduled to take place in Seattle on May 19-21, 2020.
Microsoft seems to have finally decided to cancel the biggest tech event of the year, the Build 2020 conference, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Build 2020 was scheduled to take place at Seattle from May 19 to 21. The company προσπαθεί να πραγματοποιήσει το εν λόγω συνέδριο σε ψηφιακή έκδοση, με όλες τις συνεδρίες να προβάλλονται σε απευθείας connection.
Of course Build is usually streaming online anyway, but because of the coronavirus, the physical presence of humans is a decision that reduces the likelihood that the virus will spread.
According to TheVerge, their company announced that: “H better safety of our community is a top priority. In light of the health safety recommendations for the state of Washington, we will be offering our annual Microsoft Build event for developers as a digital event, rather than an in-person event. We look forward to bringing all our developers together in this new virtual format to learn, connect and code together. Stay tuned to get more details”.
The official Build 2020 event website but it still keeps showing one notice which states that Microsoft is monitoring the coronavirus outbreak to make an appropriate decision for other events in the coming months. It does not mention the cancellation of the physical presence at the conference but the chances are indeed that the conference will take place digitally.
