Mohan Boddu has announced the release of a new development snapshot Fedora. The new development release is the version Fedora 32 Beta, and includes EarlyOOM to "kill" memory processes before affecting the operating system.
The beta version also includes GNOME 3.36 which comes with a lot of performance improvements.
“In the new at Fedora 32 Workstation Beta EarlyOOM is enabled by default. EarlyOOM allows users to quickly regain control of their system in low memory conditions with heavy use of the swap compartment.
The Fedora 32 Workstation Beta also has the fs.trim timer enabled by default, which improves performance and wear balance on SSDs.
The Fedora 32 Workstation Beta includes comes with GNOME 3.36, the latest desktop version GNOME, which has many performance improvements. The GNOME 3.36 has a "Do Not Disturb" button for notifications, enhanced parental controls and virtualization, along with new changes to Settings.
