COVID 19 Public Datasets: One of the ways that scientists and researchers try to understand and find a solution to the coronavirus is through the creation of AI models. To support these efforts, Google Cloud is offering free datasets to researchers under the COVID-19 Public Dataset Program.
Last night the company unveiled an open repository of data (COVID 19 Public Datasets) related to the virus and includes in addition to Google data, data from the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering (JHU CSSE), Global Health Data from the World Bank and OpenStreetMap data.
All of these free databases will be labeled "COVID-19" for differentiation and easy access. will remain free and affordable until September 15.
Researchers can also use BigQuery ML to build advanced AI models for any COVID-19-related research. BigQuery ML is Google's service that allows developers to create and run machine learning models through simple SQL queries in the company's Cloud repository.
The pandemic has prompted AI researchers and AI companies to try to help find cures. Last month, technology companies from China Baidu and Alibaba introduced researchers to various AI models to speed up the process in virus-related studies.
Earlier this month, the Allen AI Institute teamed up with various research teams to create an open dataset on CORD-19, adding thousands of research papers and articles on the disease.
