The data given to us by analytics company NetMarketShare reveal that the whole thing happened in March, after release of the new Microsoft Edge based on Chromium which allowed the company to be in second place immediately after Chrome of Google.
Of course Google Chrome still leads the race with a market share of 68,50%.
Some, of course, are waiting to see Microsoft Edge at the top, but this is unlikely to happen soon, especially when one notices the difference.
However, such a thing may happen in the long run since Edge is the new default browser for Windows 10. Windows 10 currently has a market share of up to 60%.
At the same time, Microsoft Edge is released for older versions of Windows as well as for macOS devices. According to the company, we will see a version for Linux, but no one knows when it will be released.
To mention that what was left behind Firefox shows that the majority is not interested in the privacy and ownership it offers. The fact is really sad.
