From Wednesday 8 April 2020 access to websites used by the Ministry of Education and Culture for distance education, will be free for use via mobile phones.
According to an announcement by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, access to digital platforms used for distance education in schools will be made through mobile networks, without data charges (zerorating). The zero charge will apply from Wednesday, April 8, following the cooperation of the Minister of Education, Nikis Kerameos, the Minister of State and Digital Governance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, the Deputy Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Sofia Zaharakis, and the country's mobile phone providers Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind.

The enormous task of distance education for our country's students is handled through fixed broadband connections that are commercially available for every household, with coverage that according to data of the National Telecommunications and Postal Commission (EETT) exceeds 99% throughout the Territory.
