Instagram announced today that starts online DMs to everyone. Finally, after several years of only being allowed access to your messages through the application, you can also view them in your browser.
The site has been testing web DMs (from Direct Message) for several months and made DMs available in a team testing this past January, with the promise of releasing them at some point in the future. But starting today, the new feature is available to everyone, globally.
Given the situation with COVID 19, it is a small but welcome addition to one of the most popular social networking platforms in the world.
I don't know about you, but lately I've been spending a lot more time on desktop with από ό, τι παλιότερα, και βέβαια στις ιστοσελίδες των social networks which I used to only use from my phone.
So from today if you are looking for your DMs in the web client, you can find it in the upper right corner of the site.
It has most of the Direct Message features for mobile, along with an emoji keyboard. You can see your inbox immediately from here.
