GitHub free for developer groups

The popular hosting platform and of software development, GitHub has made some changes to the core premium and made them available free for all.

The company that owned by Microsoft said yesterday that companies will be able to create private repositories for growth without paying any amount.

GitHub

Until now, if a company wanted to host software development on GitHub, it had to sign up for one of the premium packages starting at $ 7 a month. Last year, the company provided free private warehouses to users but with restrictions such as the number of partners.

In addition to accessing the private repository, a team can have up to 2.000 minutes of action on GitHub per month at no cost.
But those of you who want some advanced features, such as if you are a code owner and want more control over the you will have to pay $4 instead of the $9 it used to be for teams.

In a Q&A session that hosted in Hacker News, CEO Nat Friedman said GitHub wanted to make that change in the last 18 months:

We wanted to make this change in the last 18 months but we expected the participation to grow. I'm happy to say that GitHub has grown dramatically in the last year and so we can do it for free for groups that do not need Enterprise features.

It should be noted that so far GitHub has more than 40 million developers on its platform and aims to have 100 million developers by 2025.

Providing premium features for everyone at no cost can be a step in the right direction to achieve this goal.
