Canonical has released its latest version Ubuntu a few hours ago. The company just added distribution to Microsoft Store for Windows 10 users who want to install it on their system.
The Ubuntu 20.04 LTS comes with tons of security additions and improvements, such as Secure Boot to protect against low-level attacks and rootkits.
Additionally, this is the first version to feature Fast ID Online, or FIDO, to power universal use of multi-factor authentication without the need for passwords at all functional system.
Another notable addition is the WireGuard VPN, which is pre-installed on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, but will also support the 18.04 LTS distribution version, according to Canonical.
Of course, everyone can upgrade to the latest version of Ubuntu manually, but the Microsoft Store version makes it much easier for users using Windows Subsystem for Linux to install it.

"Ubuntu 20.04 on Windows lets you use the Ubuntu Terminal and run command-line utilities such as bash, ssh, git, apt and more," Microsoft said in a release note to the new distribution in the Microsoft Store.
What you should know is that Ubuntu 20.04 from the Microsoft Store cannot be installed on Windows 10 in S mode (Windows 10 S). This particular version of the Microsoft operating system is limited to installing applications from the Microsoft Store only, but the Ubuntu distribution is not currently supported.
