The Clonezilla Live is a Live CD that contains disk cloning software similar to Norton Ghost. Saves and restores only used tracks on your hard drive.
With the Clonezilla, one can clone a 5 GB system on 40 computers in about 10 minutes.
The distribution Clonezilla is based on Debian, and is specially formatted for copying disks and partitions.
The distribution includes in addition to its own specialized tools and some well known to Linux friends, such as partimage, ntfsclone and partclone. All of this enhances the distribution capabilities as it helps it copy a wide variety of filesystems: FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and NTFS for Windows, ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, reiser4, xfs, jfs, btrfs, f2fs and nilfs2 for MacOS Linux and HFS +.
Clonezilla Live: Also copies UFS for FreeBSD, NetBSD, and OpenBSD, minix for Minix, and VMFS3, VMFS5 for VMWare ESX.
The distribution Clonezilla recognizes logical volumes on Linux (LVM2) and recognizes network controller drivers, sambafs, sshfs, etc. It can also back up to remote computers via SSH, Samba or NFS.
