Microsoft has released new cumulative updates for Windows 10 as part of the Patch Tuesday Tuesday May 2020 cycle. Updated versions of Windows 10 are 1903 and 1909.
Both versions can install the same cumulative update, so changelog is exactly the same for both versions of Windows 10.
“Windows 10 versions 1903 and 1909 have the same core operating system and an identical set of system files. So the new features in Windows 10 version 1909 were included in the recent monthly update quality for Windows 10, version 1903 (released on October 8, 2019) says Microsoft.
The cumulative update for Windows 10 of 1903 and 1909 is KB4556799 and changes the build number of the operating systems:
Windows 10 version 1903: build number 18362.836
Windows 10 version 1909: build number 18363.836
What's important to know is that the cumulative updates that appear on Patch Tuesdays have fixes security which are supposed to fix vulnerabilities in the operating system.
So several Windows 10 apps and components have updates, such as WSL, Microsoft Edge, Windows Media, Windows Update Stack and more.
There are security enhancements for Microsoft Office as well. Microsoft says there are updates for storing and managing files, as well as verifying usernames and passwords.
