We have been hearing for a long time that the new Chorium-based Micorosft browser will be released for Linux computers at some point.
And Microsoft seems to mean it. We now know that Edge for Linux will finally be released and it is official.
It was first announced during the Ignite 2019 conference held in Orlando, USA, at the meeting "State of the Browser”(Approximately at 8.24). Microsoft has announced that Edge for Linux will be released sometime in 2020.
When exactly; Nobody knows, but an Edge Linux port has been around since the company first launched the stable browser for macOS and Windows 10 on January 15, 2020.
But during Build 2020, Microsoft introduced the program Microsoft Edge browser running on a Linux system. This means that the company has not abandoned its plan and is still developing Edge.

In congress Build 2020, Microsoft once again mentioned that it is exploring Linux OS as a possible platform for Edge, but again did not mention a release date.
With the release of Edge for Linux, Microsoft hopes that web developers will be involved in using it in their projects without having to switch to Windows systems.
But the big question is: will anyone else use it?
