Google Chrome and Edge in a few tweets with right click

Microsoft and Google are working together to improve Progressive Web Apps or PWA, and according to a new report, one of the features coming in a new version of browsers is custom actions in jumplists.

In Windows 10, jumplists allow users to swipe right on of the line μιας εφαρμογής και να τρέξουν συγκεκριμένες ενέργειες γρηγορότερα χωρίς να ανοίγουν ολόκληρο το περιβάλλον χρήσης μιας εφαρμογής.

For example, a right-click on the Microsoft Edge (Chromium) icon allows users to start a new window or a private window or upload a selected site from the jumplist menu.

PWAs have become more common on the desktop and especially on Windows 10 since the helps to deal with the lack of apps from the Microsoft Store.

Microsoft is betting on PWAs in the future and that is one reason why the company wants to improve support for Chromium browsers.

TheWindowsClub reported a feature that currently exists in Chromium-based browsers that will essentially allow custom action by jumplists.

For example, users of Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome could tweet directly from the jumplist, while PWAs via email could allow new messages to be posted.

The same goes for WhatsApp PWA, which with such a feature could make it possible to send messages with a jumplist option.

It looks like this feature will be added to Google Chrome 85 for the first time and Microsoft Edge will get it soon.
We do not know at this time when Edge could adopt this feature.
