Microsoft recently announced that the new OS Windows 10 May 2020 Update it will bring a lot of improvements in memory and specifically in segment heap memory.
What does this mean; Improvements to segment heap memory can significantly reduce the amount of memory used by browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
Needless to say, Microsoft Edge is the first browser to benefit from these changes, and the company claims that memory usage improvements reach 27% with Windows 10 May 2020 Update.
Question: It is coincidental that the change in segment heap memory shortly after the release of Edge based on Chromium;
Another question: Why didn't Microsoft deal with segment heap memory when its default browser was the old Edge or IE?
Of course, Google will follow, taking advantage of the improvements of the Windows 10 May 2020 Update and updating the Chrome browser for better performance in the amount of memory that uses.
