Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce ISO

The Linux Mint development team has announced the release of Linux Mint 20. The new version is based on Ubuntu 20.04 and will provide support for the next five years.

The new release comes in three flavors: Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce. Linux Mint 20 offers support for different scales on HiDPI displays, including a new called Warpinator for sharing files on the local network and the welcome box provides quick access to change the color of the desktop.

“The star of Linux Mint 20 is a new app called Warpinator. 10 years ago, Linux Mint 6 introduced a tool called “Giver” that could share files on the local network. Without any or complex settings local computers will automatically see each other. So you could simply copy and paste files from one to the other. Warpinator is a reboot of Giver. No more FTP, NFS, Samba settings needed for files between two and it's a real shame to use external media ( Internet, USB sticks, external hard drives) only to share files when there is a local network that can do just that.”

More information can be found in the distribution announcements (Cinnamon, MATE, Xfce) and release notes (Cinnamon, MATE, Xfce).
