Windows 10 2004 released KB4568831

Η A new update has been released for the latest version of Windows 10 operating system version 2004. Cumulative update KB4568831 for Windows 10 version 2004 and in version 2004 is an update that fixes many bugs found in previous versions of the operating system.

The update is available through Windows Update and the Microsoft Update Catalog website. In Windows Update, it is necessary to check the "available optional updates" section. The update should be mentioned there.

The new update is a preview update so it is not necessary to install it if you are not experiencing any problem. In any case before installing the update and every update, it is recommended to make copies of your system.

The changelog is huge and you can see it here.

Cumulative update KB4568831 fixes an error on many devices that prevents them from connecting to the Internet using a cellular modem. Needless to say, if no connection is available for these computers, the only way is to manually download this update from another device and then transfer the file to that computer.

The cumulative update KB4568831 patches a theme in WNS as well. Microsoft reports:

“Fixed an issue in Windows Push Notification (WNS) which blocked virtual private network (VPN) connections. As a result, you lost your connection to the WNS service if you used forced tunneling.”

  1. Microsoft states in the catalog update that update KB4568831 has been replaced by KB4566782. So whoever has KB4566782 should not download it.
