Most web companies use open source and Linux software. The social network Facebook with the two billion members is no different.
Here comes the bad news. As a Platinum member, the head of its Open Source department Facebook Kathy Kam will join its board Linux Foundation. Kam is a 20 year technician, product management, and leader in developer relations with vast experience in open source management. He has previously worked at Google and Microsoft.
Why bad news? The Facebook has been criticized for how it manages privacy and for a policy that is not impartial as there are often strong partisan overtones. We hope his voice Facebook not to bring about changes in his philosophy Linux Foundation.
