Microsoft has released a new version of Microsoft Edge on the Canary channel that brings Secure DNS support to the browser.
We will see the features of the Edge Canary version later in the Beta version and finally in the Fixed versions of the browser. Secure DNS is its implementation DNS-over-HTTPS of Microsoft, a technology for encryption of movements DNS.
The domain name system (DNS) is used for various purposes, such as translating domain names into IP addresses. Every request submitted to the browser uses DNS.
Unencrypted DNS searches mean that ISPs and others can view, record, or even manage these requests. Thus DNS encryption is considered necessary.
Microsoft has provided support for encrypted DNS in Windows 10 at the beginning of the month but this feature is only available to Insiders. But soon we are expected to see the new feature in the stable versions of Windows 10.
On the other hand, Mozilla and Google have already implemented support for DNS-Over-HTTPS in their browsers. So Microsoft, which follows the development of Google Chromium, added this feature to the new Edge.
Secure DNS is enabled by default in Microsoft Edge of Canary and may remain enabled in both Beta and Stable versions.
To set up Secure DNS on Edge:
Open the internal edge: // settings / privacy address

If you want to choose a service provider, click on "choose a service provider" to select a provider that supports secure DNS. You will be presented with a list of providers to choose from. Just do it click in the blank field and select one of the four available providers: Quad9, Cloudflare, CleanBrowsing or Google.
