TikTok is facing problems the last space από την κυβέρνηση Trump. Σύμφωνα όμως με μια δημοσίευση της Wall Street Journal, Facebook was the one that started it all.
The Wall Street Journal reports that Mark Zuckerberg personally briefed President Donald Trump on the Chinese company, during a dinner hosted by the American president late last year.
So Facebook not only "killed" a very fast-rising rival, but also according to Mrface of Sen. Josh Hawley used TikTok to distract lawmakers from the regulatory actions they wanted for Facebook. According to Kelli Ford he was using the issue as a "PR tactic to boost Facebook."
Facebook has a reputation for not wanting to compete, and has historically proven it either by acquiring its rivals or by copying their product. However, Facebook's first attempts to copy TikTok failed completely, and due to greater regulatory control, it became increasingly difficult to acquire the company.
So Facebook, which supports every Washington lobby, has found a new way to "kill" competition, with TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer reporting that they were "maliciously attacked by our competitor - Facebook - who disguised himself as a patriot and planned terminate TikTok's presence in the USA ”.
TikTok currently has until November 12 to sell its US-based assets, with Microsoft seeking to buy the company, after of course receiving the blessings of Donald Trump.
