Microsoft is delaying its support fee Windows 10 version 1803 for certain categories of users. The initial date for the end of the support was November 10, 2020 and the new date is May 11, 2021.
The support fee means that the operating system will no longer receive security updates. The SDKs that will be supported until 2021 for Windows 10 of version 1803 will be Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise, according to a Publication Microsoft on August 26.
The support fee for Home, Pro, Pro Education and Pro for Workstation releases for Windows 10 of version 1803 has already occurred since November 12, 2019.
The reason for the delay in the end of the support date is the comments of users that show that businesses need more time in the midst of the coronary COVID-19 pandemic.
Microsoft plans to provide security updates for its SDKs Windows 10 of the 1803 version mentioned above through Windows Update, Windows Server Update Services and the Microsoft Update Catalog.
In March, Microsoft announced that it would extend support for Windows 10 1709 for some customers due to the pandemic. The original expiration date of their support Windows 10 1709 was scheduled for April 14, 2020 while with the extension it went on October 13, 2020 for SDK Enterprise, Education and IoT customers.
