Apple announced last night the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE. Along with the announcements, the company said it's removing the USB adapter that came in the Watch's box.
The news probably passed on the fine print as everyone focuses on Apple's new super duper products (the iPhone 12 follows today).
The Cupertino-based company said the reason is environmental. He claimed that this step would save carbon equivalent over 50.000 cars per year.
This means that Apple will have to produce millions of these chargers for the Mission them with the Watch.
This move has fueled rumors that the iPhone 12 box will not contain any power supply.
if you are user iPhone, there's a chance you already have a lightning cable, but your Apple Watch or upcoming iPhone chargers might not be compatible.
So it is rather doubtful whether Apple will save as much carbon as it claims.
Also, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE are available at $ 399 and $ 279 respectively. As we all know, company accessories are not cheap, so you may have to pay extra to buy a power supply if you do not have one and of course you do but it is not compatible.
A TNW columnist says you should not trust anyone with a cordless phone. The same can be said for smartwatches.
