AMD just announced the new ones processors of the Ryzen 5000 series for desktops, which are also the company's first to feature the next-generation Zen 3 architecture and represent the biggest leap forward for AMD's desktop chips to date.
AMD is also setting high expectations, promising that the new Ryzen 5900X series is nothing less than the "world's best gaming CPU." New processors will be availablefrom $299 for the entry-level Ryzen 5 5600X model on November 5.
Like last year's Zen 3000-based Ryzen 2 chips, the new 5000 series processors still use AMD's 7nm process, but offer a 19% increase in instructions per cycle, along with a complete redesign of layoutof the chips for a higher maximum boost speed.
AMD starts with four new Zen 3 processors. There is a top model Ryzen 9 5950X with 16 cores, 32 threads and a maximum boost speed of 4,9GHz that costs $ 799. The Ryzen 9 5900X has 12 cores, 32 threads and a max boost speed of 4,8GHz (costs $ 549). For $ 449 you can get the Ryzen 7 5800X, with eight cores, 16 threads and a max boost speed of 4,7GHz. At $ 299 there is the Ryzen 5 5600X, with six cores, 12 threads and a max boost speed of 4,6GHz.
