The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate informs citizens about wiretapping attempts data of a personal nature through "phishing"
Cases of attempted interception of personal data via e-mails have recently been reported to the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate post office(emails) using "phishing" techniques.
Specifically, through emails, which are sent en masse to the citizens, with an emerging postal company providing postal services, unknown perpetrators attempt to steal personal data under the pretext of demanding payment of transportation and storage costs.
The emails contain links that lead to websites in which login details for online accounts (email, social media, webbanking) and cards must be filled in payments .
Then, if the recipient of the email fills in the required information, the perpetrators use it either to gain unauthorized access to the victim's accounts, or to conduct unauthorized electronic transactions, using the intercepted card details.
It is pointed out that these emails need a lot of attention, as they are extremely plausible. Internet users who receive them are invited to:
- do not select the suggested links,
- do not reply to messages,
- not to register and not to send privacy and credit card details,
as in no case are they true.
