Edward Snowden, via Twitter, asked US President Donald Trump to pardon its founder Wikileaks, Julian Assange.
“Mr. President, if you wish to grant just one pardon against duration of your term, please: free Julian Assange. Only you can save his life," Snowden said.
Mr. President, if you grant only one act of clemency during your time in office, please: free Julian Assange. You alone can save his life. @realDonaldTrump

Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, is being held in London. He was arrested in April 2019 for violating pre-trial release conditions in a 2012 case in the United Kingdom.
At the time, Assange sought political asylum at the Ecuadorian embassy in London, where he lived until his arrest in 2019 when the Ecuadorian government stopped supporting the founder of WikiLeaks.
US authorities accuse Assange of conspiracy, and leaking classified documents to the US. The indictment was updated a month later to add charges that Assange tried to recruit famous hacker groups (Anonymous and LulzSec) to steal sensitive on his behalf archives for publication on WikiLeaks.
Assange has repeatedly threatened to commit suicide if extradited to the United States, threats his lawyers use as a central point of defense. That's why Snowden said Trump's favor would save Assange's life.
Last week, Tulsi Gabbard, a Hawaii State House spokesman, also asked Trump to pardon both Assange and Snowden. It remains to be seen what the President will do.
