In the last few hours, an email claiming to be from Facebook has started to be distributed. The email informs you that you have won a huge amount and informs you of the steps you need to follow in order to receive it.

Following is the message as forwarded to us by a friend of iGuRu.gr. The email is in Greek but with a bad translation (note that it states the amount, but also other points towards the end)

______________________

As you can see the main purpose of the email is to get your information. Of course whoever answers will receive another email asking for more things. These types of scams usually require some money to be deposited to settle the transfer of funds (bank charges).

Attention to all those who receive the email and are happy for their incredible luck. The email asking you to reply is to gmail and not to Facebook, although a scammer has tried to look a bit like: fbdirectdesk[email protected]
