Windows 10 21H1 finally builds File Explorer

The upcoming version 21H1 of Windows 10 appears to fix long-standing bugs in File Explorer (File ).

After the November 2019 Update, some users have started having problems with the File Explorer embedded search platform, which was designed to provide a faster search experience with a new preview interface.

With the May 2020 Update of Windows 10, Microsoft addressed the search bar performance issues and fixed it for right click.

However, some users still complain that the File Explorer window freezes and "explorer.exeLeads to high resource utilization.

On March 15th, Microsoft started rolling out a new cumulative update for the Windows 10 21H1 preview, and it looks like the update has finally managed to fix a which caused the consumption of a large volume s from explorer.exe.

With Build 19043.899, Microsoft also fixed a problem where the column header stuck to "Computing Filters" or did nothing if you clicked on filters, as shown in the image below.

This error also exists in Windows 10 of version 20H2 / 2004 where the column header never displays any filters.

Specifically, this only happens when you search in File Explorer and click the arrow next to the column header to see a list of available filters for search results.

In addition to better performance and improvements to search filters, Microsoft also fixed an issue that could cause the File Explorer window to stop responding for several minutes. This issue only occurs when you reconnect to a network and use mapped drives .

Although most of the critical issues have now been fixed, a rare error where the File Explorer search box stops responding remains the same.

Aside from the File Explorer changes, Windows 21 1H10 is expected to come with new Windows Hello Settings options and several quality enhancements.
