Windows 10 1803, 1809 and 1909 support end

Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows 1803 1809, 1909, and 10 versions.

As of May 11, 2021, Windows 10 versions 1803, 1809, and 1909 are no longer supported by the company. So if you still te one of them, it's time to consider an upgrade.

The official end-of-support announcement means that Windows 10 Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations for each of these editions will no longer receive the Microsoft Security.

Windows will automatically start installing a feature update on Windows 10 and unmanaged end-of-support business devices. For these devices, you can choose a convenient time to restart your device and complete the update

There are two exceptions:

  • Windows 10 in 1809 Enterprise LTSC 2019 and Windows 10 IoT Core / Enterprise 2019 LTSC will continue to receive updates until January 9, 2029.
  • Windows 10 1909 Education, Enterprise and IoT Enterprise will continue to receive updates until May 11, 2022.

Therefore, if you are using one of the unsupported versions of Windows 10, it is time to upgrade your operating system.

In some cases, Microsoft may automatically upgrade to Windows 10. If your computer belongs to a domain, you may need to wait for your network administrator to press the upgrade button.

However, if not, you can check for the latest version of Windows 10 using the Settings app.

Press Windows + I to open the Settings application.
On the Update and Security tab, check Windows Update for any pending updates.
