Generation Beta begins in 2025 and will last until approximately 2039. It will grow up deeply immersed in artificial intelligence and smart technology, addressing pressing social challenges such as climate change and global change, while potentially being protected from excessive screen time by already tech-savvy Gen Z parents.
NBC News he says:
Generation start and end dates may be unclear, but Generation Beta will continue to spawn until around 2039. Before her, Gen Alpha extended from the 2010 to 2024, Gen Z from about 1996 to 2010, and millennials from 1981 to 1996.
The coming generation “will inherit a world grappling with major social challenges,” wrote demographer and futurist Mark McCrindle in a blog post.
"With climate change, global population shifts and rapid urbanization, sustainability will not just be a preference but an expectation."
Just like Gen Z and Gen Alpha, Gen Beta will grow up with social media, although it is still unknown how they will evolve over the next decade.
Other experts predict that Gen Z parents may choose to protect them children them from being constantly in the Internet. While older millennial parents tend to integrate technology into their children's lives, McCrindle wrote that Gen Z parents may take a different approach with their future Gen Beta children.
"Gen Z is more aware of both the positives and the challenges that come with using social media from a young age," says McCrindle.
"As the most tech-savvy generation of parents, Gen Z sees the advantages of technology, but also sees its disadvantages and negotiates the age at which their children will access and engage with it."
