Last night the new version of WordPress 5.3 was released! It was named “Kirk” in honor of the jazz artist Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
WordPress version 5.3 Kirk expands the possibilities and improves the existing ones in the block editor. New editor features increase design possibilities, provide additional design options and style variations that give designers more control over appearanceof a website.
This release also brings the theme of Twenty Twenty giving the user more design flexibility with the block processor.
This updated version brings over 150 new features and improvements, including improved large image support for uploading unoptimized, high-resolution photos taken from your smartphone or other high-resolution quality cameras. Combined with larger default image sizes, images will always look better.
Improvements include the integration of block editor styles in the dashboard. These improved styles fix many accessibility issues: such as color contrast in form and button fields, standardization in WordPress's default color scheme, and more.
After the improvements to the block editor, we should also mention the Twenty Twenty designed for more flexibility.
In addition to the above the new version brings the following features:
Automatic Image Rotation
You can edit images after upload, but you can also rotate them which WordPress has been thinking about for the last 9 years.
Improved Site Health Checks
The new 5.3 release recognizes problems faster and suggests changes.
Admin Email Verification
If you are an admin and do not visit the site, the new version will periodically email you to confirm your email address. This will reduce the risk of being locked out if you change your email address.
