Addicted to Facebook? You are not alone

The survey was conducted by Stop Procrastinating - a productivity company based in the United Kingdom. The article was published on ZDNet by Eileen Brown.

The company asked for information from 2000 people who use Facebook regularly and found that the majority of respondents are worried about the use they make on Facebook is coercive.

The survey was conducted by 15 and 25 July and a standardized poll methodology was used.

The 56% of the respondents described the use of Facebook as coercive. Respondents admitted that they left a meal at a restaurant with friends or their partner to visit the bathroom to check out Facebook.

33% check their Facebook page in the movie during a movie. 14% checked their page on a funeral. 12% had commented on a post during their wedding and 17 percent had checked Facebook during a friend's wedding.

68% of respondents are worried about their inability to control the use of Facebok. In fact, 45% said they had found an excuse not to attend a social event so they could use Facebok.

32% had updated their page, from the shower or bath, and 56 percent had updated their page while sitting in the toilet.

The signs that use Facebook is depressing include using it while reading a fairy tale to your children.

Respondents revealed from where they had updated their page, or commented on a post.

76% of the bed when they should be asleep
11% on their first appointment
17% post sex.
33% during a movie in the movie theater
22% after an operation in the hospital.
26% at sea.
9% out during a storm
72% during the course of work or lesson
11%, while talking to their cat.
16% while driving.

36 percent of respondents said they were angry when some people tried to stop them while they wanted to update their page.

Commenting on the survey, Tim Rollins, Head of Stop Procrastinating said:

"There is no doubt that Facebook is an important part of our lives, it allows us to share our experiences and feelings with our friends, no matter where we may be.

It's a miracle of the Internet age, allowing us to share our lives, thoughts and feelings with our friends at all times. ”
