Listen to the sounds of the forest from all over the world

Tree.fm and Sounds of the Forest contain a growing collection of recordings from forests around the world.

We love the weird stuff you can find on the internet, so today we present two websites that have collected recordings with the sounds of forests around the world, giving you a taste of a sound map of the Earth.

Tree.fm
The Tree.fm currently has 39 forest sounds to browse and enjoy. Some are quiet, some noisy full of birds and wild or water sounds and some with some human touches.

The recordings vary in length, last from 30 seconds to about three minutes and are repeated automatically. Some have sound effects (slowing down the sounds), as well as occasional man-made noise, such as footsteps or the microphone.

Click on “Listen to a random forest” to be transported to a forest somewhere in the world. Press Play to listen to forest sounds. Press the “Next Random Forest” button and the website will take you to the next random forest. The images on each forest's page are taken from the free photo site Unsplash.

Sounds of the Forest
The sound map Sounds of the Forest collects forest sounds from around the world, creating a growing acoustic map.
Visit the website to browse forests by geographic location around the world and click the icon to listen. The website is not flawless, as you may find a forest sound that is not in the correct location on the map. For example there is a forest of Portugal which on the map is on the east coast of .

From Greece it has a sound from the forest in Karpenisi, one from Zagorochoria and one from Samothrace.

Both Tree.fm and Sounds of the Forest are a great way to relax, to hear the sounds of the forest, from all over the world. Spend some time after a busy day.
