ALERT from Piraeus for theft of credit card information

We just got one from a friend of iGuRu.gr who mentions a possible theft of credit information MasterCard. The message arrived on his mobile via SMS from Piraeus:

The friend of iGuRu.gr informed us with a message stating:

I was just informed by sms about of My office in Piraeus and on the phone they said that "Mastercard has informed about the theft of credit card information, possibly including yours."

Note that this alert may not be important, as if they steal a number of cards from "one row", they usually cancel all "this row" cards, as our friend learned after an additional investigation talking to someone banking on the phone.

According to the same source, the SMS was the result of an update from Mastercard's organization. Of course we don't know where it came from , or if anything further is made public. There is a chance that they will simply "bury" it. At the moment it doesn't exist as news anywhere, so we thought we'd post it.

Did you get a message? Please inform us.

We thank the friend of iGuRu.gr for the immediate information.

Update:

The bank contacted us via Twitter to ask if it could help with something. We have updated this publication to mention the exemplary interest of the Bank.

  1. SMS in the year 2020 says "visit a store in Piraeus"? My vision is good;! In other words, why can't the card be canceled and replaced online or by phone? Let me enjoy digitization. And let me not talk about the 6 € that the bank will bite again for the reissue of the card…
