With Windows 11 still not wowing the world, campaigners are warning that millions of PCs could be at risk when support for Windows 10 ends in around eleven months.
The items that compiled by StatCounter show that Windows 11 had a 35,55% share of the Windows desktop market in October.
By comparison, Windows 10's share fell to 60,97%, continuing a downward trend that began earlier this year. It should be mentioned that it was still at 69,9% in April.
At this rate unless we see some noticeable acceleration, Windows 11 is unlikely to dominate the market by the time Microsoft pulls free updates for most of the Windows 10 world on October 14, 2025.
Recall that in January 2019, a year before the end of support for Windows 7, Windows 10 was comfortably ahead with a market share of 53,18 percent versus 35,05 percent.
Windows 11 still seems to have a long way to go to reach the same point.
