Google's parent company Alphabet has agreed to buy cybersecurity startup Wiz for $32 billion, the largest acquisition in the search company's history, according to people familiar with the matter. Financial Times.
Alphabet held talks to acquire Wiz for $23 billion last year, but negotiations collapsed after some of the cybersecurity company's directors and investors worried about antitrust hurdles.
The deal, which would rank as the biggest deal of the year so far, will be announced on Tuesday morning, the Financial Times reported.
It will likely be examined by the Federal Trade Commission under President Donald Trump.
It should be mentioned that the new FTC chairman, Andrew Ferguson, has the ability to block large deals, just like his predecessor Lina Khan.
George is still wondering what he is doing here….
