A couple from Portland recently had an unpleasant surprise that forced them to come in contact with Amazon customer support, but without any results. A smart speaker of the company is reportedly recording a private conversation of the couple and sending it to a person from their contacts list.
In their misfortune, they were also lucky, as at that moment they were talking about the floors of their home.
The thriller did not stop there: Later one of the husband's employees phoned to say that he just received a strange sound message. A recording of a conversation between the couple.
According to one Publication from KIRO7, Danielle, who asked not to be named, said she did not believe it at first. But when the recipient sent her the recordings, she "felt invaded."
But it gets worse: Amazon's support staff could not understand why this is happening. Danielle claims that the technicians told her they were looking at everything but could not find out what happened. So no explanation was given.
Amazon reportedly confirmed the incident with KIRO7, but reportedly has not yet provided any explanation to substantiate it.
Here, to mention that Amazon's decision to participate in government surveillance programs, we should be more concerned about most of the 40 million devices that the company has managed to put into consumer homes.
