Apple has announced a recall program for iPhone 12 devices with audio problems. The phones will be repaired free of charge by authorized technicians.
Apple had presented in October 2020 the iPhone 12 series with very good positive impressions. However, it seems that the phone has construction problems as the handset has started to show defects. So Apple is recalling the devices affected by sound problems.
Some iPhone 12 and 12 Pro phone owners experience audio problems as the handset does not produce sound during calls. Apple says this is due to the failure of a component in the receiver unit and as a result, affected customers are entitled to free repair.
According to the Cupertino tech giant, this issue only affects a “very small percentage” of iPhone 12 devices and iPhone 12 Pro that were manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max are not eligible for free repairs.
The process to fix your headset is quite simple. You just have to contact one Authorized dealer of Apple, Apple Retail Store or Apple Support to start the process. Before submitting your iPhone for repairs, Apple recommended that make backups of devices in iCloud.
There is also some fine print in the announcement. If the phone has other defects, such as broken screen κλπ, θα πρέπει πρώτα να επισκευαστούν πριν η company fix the receiver unit. Of course, this also means that you may need to pay extra costs before your affected device is fully operational.
In addition, Apple has warned that this service plan does not extend your standard warranty, which applies to iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro units two years after their retail sale and is locked in your market area.
The revocation program also applies, of course, to the European Economic Area (EEA) countries, which are all countries of the European Union plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. These include Greece.
