RESURRECTION OFGB no more ads in Windows 11

Microsoft doesn't seem to be backing down from introducing more and more ads to Windows 11. If app ads in the Start menu are becoming more and more aggressively intrusive and going back to Windows 10 isn't an option, there are third-party apps that could make the experience your Windows 11 much better.ofgb

One such app is OFGB, which stands for Oh Frick Go Back. It is a new application that offers its users a simple, easy-to-use method to disable ads in Windows 11. OFGB uses the Windows Registry to disable ads in the operating system from the following points:

  • File Explorer Ads
  • Lock Screen Tips and Ads
  • Settings Ads
  • General Tips and Ads
  • “Finish Setup” Ads
  • “Welcome Experience” Ads
  • Personalized Ads
  • “Tailored Experiences”
  • Start menu Ads

Checking all the boxes is all it takes to get rid of the ads, Interestingly, OFGB was made by a user (Maddy) of Arch Linux and in one interview at Tom's Hardware, voiced her displeasure with the ever-increasing number of ads on a premium product.

Windows lost me a long time ago by adding more and more telemetry, ads and the lack of easily configurable options. Once the last programs I can't get away from run under Wine or Proton, I plan to give up entirely.

  1. As long as I have the 2 tools in my browsers, I never saw any ads! I use Privacy Badger and uBlock Origin with filter update and Light and I'm fine, even on demanding Youtube !! I have them on the Toolbar and I see them blocking incoming calls, from 1 to 120 times and I have 3 Browsers, Edge, Opera, Firefox that I do different things with each one.

    • Man come on let's start over.
Read the article again and give a basis for the argument that says: “…app ads in the Start menu…”

Reading it a second and third time if necessary, you will find that the browser tools do not back down from cutting ads from the Windows "Start" and "File Explorer".

PS Don't just read the headlines. It also has text...
