Google on Wednesday night released the second developer preview version of Android 12, Google's upcoming mobile operating system.
The early version gives developers a sense of the new possibilities that the updated operating system will offer.
This version includes security updates as well as user experience.
Google launched the first beta of Android 12 last month, making some changes to the operating system aimed at both consumers and corporate users.
With the dev versions of Android 12, developers have time to ensure that their applications are compatible with the upcoming operating system.
"We are working to make updates faster and smoother, giving priority to application compatibility as we develop new versions of the platform." he says VP of Engineering Dave Burke in a post on the company blog.
Now is “the right time to start compatibility testing and figure out what to do. We recommend that you do this early so that you can release a compatible update from Android 12 Beta 1. ”
The beta version will come in May, while the final release is scheduled for sometime in August or a little later. Developers already running the first preview of Android 12 can perform an over-the-air (OTA) update with the new release.
