The announcement was made during the Google I/O 2016 conference and according to the company it is a new project which will deliver to a subset of a complete existing application.

When you click on a link in Google Play, it will run the app immediately and stream them to you that you need at that moment. Once you close this application it will be completely deleted from your mobile. Technically it will live in the cache for a few hours, but there is no app on your home screen.

Google considers that there are cases where you are using a mobile Android to visit a place from rare to just once. Installing an app for these individual visits is usually not pleasant and basically after you see what you want in the end you completely delete the application.

For example it mentions applications that inform you about the cost of parking, or visiting a museum or the cost and the a that exist in an amusement park etc.

In a live example, the presenter used the B&H company's app to conduct a market survey for a handbag for . He didn't install any apps and after a total of three clicks, and about 30 seconds, he has made his purchase.

The demo was made in real time, and on an Android device running 4.4 KitKat. Once released, it is expected to be compatible with any device that will have Jellybean or later version.

At the moment, the project direct apps for Android is supported by a few partners, such as: Buzzfeed, B&H Photo Video, Medium, Hotel Tonight, Zumper and . Η Google σχεδιάζει να επεκτείνει σταδιακά την και σε περισσότερους εταίρους κατά τη of the following months. Android users will start seeing Instant Apps "within this year."
