Rovio, which owns the game, announced that the Angry Birds movie will be released in the summer of 2016. Produced by John Cohen, producer of, among others, the films "I, the Most High" and "The Ice Age".
Rovio itself will fully fund the production of the film, announcing that it will not work with any Hollywood studio.
