Anonymous dismantled the fascist side of the Internet

The hacktivist group Anonymous claims to have managed to obtain gigabytes of data from Epik, a company that provides domain names, hosting services and DNS services to numerous far-right clients. Among them are the Texas GOP, Gab, and 8chan. The stolen data was released as a torrent.

Anonymous states that the data set is over 180 GB, and contains data from the company for a decade.

The hacktivist group says the dataset is “all one needs to identify the owning and managing the fascist side of the internet”.

If these are right, Epik's customer data and identities could now fall into the hands of activists, researchers, and just about anyone curious.

The attack took place on September 13, 2021, in retaliation for hosting fascist websites. The breach reveals a huge amount of the company's customer data, but deletes WHOIS files belonging to individuals and organizations that were not Epik customers.

The data include over 15 million unique email addresses names, phone numbers, physical addresses, and passwords stored in various formats.
