Apple announced last night the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE. Along with the announcements, the company stated that it is removing the USB adapter that was in the Watch box.
The news probably passed on the fine print as everyone focuses on Apple's new super duper products (the iPhone 12 ακολουθεί σήμερα).
The Cupertino-based company said the reason is environmental. He claimed that this step would save carbon equivalent over 50.000 cars per year.
This means that Apple will have to produce millions from these chargers to ship with the Watch.
This movement has fueled rumors that the iPhone 12 box will not contain a power supply.
If you're an iPhone user, chances are you already have one lightning cable, but Apple Watch or upcoming iPhone chargers may not be compatible.
So it is rather doubtful whether Apple will save as much carbon as it claims.
Also, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE are available at $ 399 and $ 279 respectively. As we all know, company accessories are not cheap, so you may have to pay extra to buy a power supply if you do not have one and of course you do but it is not compatible.
A columnist (Callum) from TNW reports that you shouldn't trust anyone who has one phones without charger. The same can be true for smart watches.
