Apple announced last night the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Watch SE. Along with the announcements, the company stated that it is removing the USB adapter that was in the Watch box.
The news probably went down to the fine print as everyone focused on Apple's new super duper products (iPhone 12 follows today).
The company from Cupertino stated that the reason is environmental. He claimed this step would save over 50.000 carbon equivalents cars annually.
This means that Apple will have to produce millions of these chargers for it Mission them with the Watch.
This movement has fueled rumors that the iPhone 12 box will not contain a power supply.
If you're an iPhone user, chances are you already have one lightning cable, but Apple Watch or upcoming iPhone chargers may not be compatible.
So it is rather doubtful whether Apple will save as much carbon as it claims.
Also, the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE are available at $ 399 and $ 279 respectively. As we all know, company accessories are not cheap, so you may have to pay extra to buy a power supply if you do not have one and of course you do but it is not compatible.
A TNW columnist says you should not trust anyone with a cordless phone. The same can be said for smartwatches.
