Apparently Apple wants to end the Mac OS X cycle after the release of 10.11 El Capitan. THE company decided it was time to change the version number in the name of the operating system that powers everything from MacBooks to iMacs to something new. So today Apple announced the upcoming MacOS 10.12 «Sierra».
Yes, you are reading it correctly, MacOS will be the new name of the Apple desktop operating system, and the next big version is called Sierra, from the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the western United States.
