The Ardour 8.4 was released today with various new features, improvements and many bug fixes. It is a free, open-source, powerful, and cross-platform DAW (digital audio workstation).
The application is distributed under the GNU General Public License and can be installed on GNU / Linux, OSX, FreeBSD, and Windows operating systems. Its main developer is Paul Davis, who is also in charge of the tool JACK Audio Connection Kit.
Ardour 8.2 comes to add some much needed new features to the already powerful digital audio workstation software.
These include support for importing M4A audio files, a new adjustable Remove Gaps track editing feature with adjustable limit and output parameters, and the ability to display low-level measurement of DSP processing information in the Performance Meters window.
