A few days after the change, the new management decided to add some "basic telemetry capabilities" to the software.
Audacity won its award SourceForge.net, Community Choice Award for Best Multimedia Program in 2007. The application, among others, can record live audio through a microphone or mixer, and digitize recordings from other media. With some sound cards and in any recent version of Windows, Audacity can also record streaming audio. Audacity can be used to post-process many kinds of audio files and podcasts. It can be used to complete podcasts by adding effects such as volume normalization, track cuts, volume control (fade-in/fade-out).
