Audacity the three most popular forks

Audacity is a popular open source audio editor for Windows, Mac and Linux devices. It is free and supports a wide range of editing features. Used to mix YouTube video audio to create audio tracks or audio samples, or to analyze audio files. Other features include converting audio files, copying or cutting audio CD tracks, splitting or merging audio.

The ownership of the Audacity project changed in 2021 and one of the first changes was the introduction of Telemetry.

Then, as we mentioned in a previous post , recent changes to Audacity's privacy policy led some users to call the audio editing software spyware.

The good news is that the Audacity application is an open source project and various developers started cracking the application as soon as it was announced that the original team had changed.

So far we have two forks that have all the main features of the Audacity application, but there is not yet a "main" fork that is chosen by all dissatisfied developers and users.

Here is a link to a promising fork (because it is updated regularly)
