The German AV-TEST Safety Institute conducted a series of tests in late November looking for the best antivirus solution for the new Windows 10 operating system. The applications: Avira Antivirus Pro, Bitdefender Internet Security, Kaspersky Internet Security and Norton Security were at the top of the charts.
The researchers report that Windows Defender was used as a benchmark in their tests. So they compared them characteristics of Windows Defender feature-based products. This is one of the reasons why Windows Defender is among the last on the list.
Malware detection
For malware detection, the antivirus solutions that stood out are Avira, F-Secure, AVG, AhnLab and Kaspersky Lab which detected every dangerous file without any error, ενώ η εφαρμογή Panda Security πέτυχε το καλύτερο ποσοστό ανίχνευσης μεταξύ των free products.

If you are afraid that antivirus could slow down your computer, then you should use products that are developed by: Avira, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, and Symantec because they have the highest detection rate without much impact on system performance.
Usability
The majority of products tested were rated as maximum (6 by 6 points) in usability tests.

It should be noted that these tests relate to the behavior of products on already known threats. This means that a new malware or zero-day exploit leaves your system exposed, regardless of the product you use.
