AV-TEST: Two top honors at ESET

In the latest AV-TEST Product Evaluation and Certification reports, ESET was awarded the Top Product award in both the product category for professional use as well as in the category for domestic use.

In AV-TEST's August and October 2020 tests, the 7.3 and ESET Internet Security 13.2 - ESET's Windows security products for business and home consumers respectively - were each recognized as a Top Product with perfect scores in the Protection and Usability categories.

AV-TEST, an independent testing organization, uses one of the largest collections of digital malware in the world to create a realistic environment for reliable testing.

The tests evaluated the best antivirus software for Windows PCs for home users and businesses, with all vendors rated in three main categories: Protection, Performance, Usability.

ESET's solutions received the highest score of 6 points in the Protection category, which assesses protection against malware such as viruses, worms and Trojan horses, and the highest score of 6 in the Usability category, which assesses the impact of security software on usability of .

Both solutions scored almost perfect scores of 5,5 in the Performance category, which evaluates the effect of the product on computer speed in everyday use.

It is important to note that, last summer, ESET received the 100th AV-Test – a milestone marking ten years since ESET received its first certificate from AV-Test in June 2010.

"After an unprecedented year, protecting sensitive information and data at work and at home using advanced security software has never been more important," says Roman Kováč, Chief Research of ESET.

"At ESET, we are proud of the efforts we make to make the safer. Recognition by AV-Test confirms that our solutions are proven to work in realistic scenarios. It is extremely encouraging that, not only do we continue to excel in security solutions for business and home users, but also that we have stood out in independent testing for ten years running for consistent and outstanding results.”
